Welcome to the Equiticity Racial Equity Movement.

transforming lives, neighborhoods & cities.

Equiticity is a racial equity movement—programming and advocating for racial equity, increased mobility, and racial justice to make our neighborhoods and cities more accessible and liveable for Black, Brown, and Indigenous people of color in Chicago and beyond.

Mobilizing our Communities Toward Justice

“One of the most important elements of our work is socializing people around the act of mobility. As people get to know eachother and grow trust at the hyper-local level, people begin to develop stronger bonds and connections with one another. And as we get to know eachother, we discover that we’re more similar than dissimilar—and that’s how we achieve unity in our society.”

Envisioning a better future

We envision Equiticity creating a mid- to large-size U.S. city which serves as a global model for the rest of the world in showcasing how to normalize, prioritize, and operationalize a real commitment to racial equity.

Equiticity envisions a city where racial equity is fully integrated at the policy and legislative levels into every function, department, resource, and budget associated with the city’s operations, services, and programs.

Making an impact

Through advancing racial equity, increasing mobility, and accelerating racial justice, we can reduce violence, improve community health, and create equitable jobs.

The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any.
